Ringo Starr & His All Star Band

Ringo Starr and his All Star Band Ringo Starr aka Richard Starkey became the best drummer in Liverpool in the early 1960s, found fame and fortune with The Beatles and now tours with an ever-changing group of musicians called the All Star Band. I saw him perform at Jones Beach in 2001 with Sheila E, Greg Lake (of Emerson, Lake & Palmer), Roger Hodgson (of Supertramp), Howard Jones, and Ian Hunter (of Mott the Hoople). The show was amazing, overflowing with good old rock n roll and tons of energy. Ringo sang Yellow Submarine, Photography, You're 16, Boys, Act Naturally, I'm The Greatest, Back Off Boogaloo, The No No Song, I Wanna Be Your Man, It Don't Come Easy, Don't Go Where the Road Don't Go. Bandmember highlights included Greg Lake's In the Court of the Crimson King and Lucky Man, Ian Hunter's All the Young Dudes, Roger Hodgson's Give A Little Bit, Howard Jones' No One is To Blame and Sheila E's extraordinary percussion on practically everything. The final encore featured Ringo singing A Little Help From My Friends with the whole band. Lucky for us all, Ringo has a lot of fun, talented friends! Other tours included Dr. John, Rick Danko and Levon Helm of The Band, the late John Entwistle of The Who, Nils Lofgren, Joe Walsh, Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, Billy Preston, Jim Keltner, Dave Edmunds, Todd Rundgren, Burton Cummings of The Guess Who, Tim Capello, Randy Bachman of BTO, Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals, and Ringo's son Zak Starkey.

In addition to his work with The Beatles, Ringo has put out many great solo albums, plus live concert recordings of many of the All Starr Band concerts. You can find most of them at amazon

Beatles postcards Postcards From the Boys collected by Ringo Starr

Whenever John, Paul, or George went on a trip, they would send Ringo a postcard. Now, for the first time, Ringo Starr is opening his private archive to share this delightful and very intimate correspondence. Whether it's John advising Ringo to record a "great & simple" song like Blondie's Heart of Glass, Paul and Jane Asher dropping a note from Rishikesh to report on their meditation lessons with the Maharishi, or George writing from the Great Barrier Reef to confirm plans for Christmas dinner, each postcard is a warm and personal snapshot of life in (and after) The Beatles. The 51 postcards -- many of which are covered in whimsical drawings -- are colorfully reproduced, both front and back. Ringo's droll commentary fills in the blanks, though he does confess that at times he had to consult the Internet for details! Often funny, occasionally bittersweet, and always revealing, Postcards from the Boys is a clever, quirky and unique delight.
