Where: Battery Park, NY
Whether your path is Wicca, eclectic Pantheism,
Shamanism, Asatru, Celtic Traditionalism, Druidism,
Ceremonial Magick or any other flavor of Pagan/Neo-Pagan spirituality,
you're invited to come celebrate the International Pagan Pride Project's
NY area 5th Annual Harvest Celebration and Food Drive.
This year's guest speaker will be
Isaac Bonewits author of the classic book
and Rites of Worship: A Neopagan Approach
There will also be a harvest circle, workshops,
and lots of great music.
My doumbek and I are
especially excited about a possible
drum jam. If you're a drummer, bring along your
bodhrans, bongos, djembes, doumbeks, congas, shekeres and tambourines and let's
raise some awesome musical energy!
Rhythm is a language that can heal, inspire and unite like nothing else
and group drumming can be an incredibly blissful, powerful experience.
If you've never been to a
drumming circle or even if you have,
visit my Drum Circle page for more info :-)
Last year the 2000+ attendees enjoyed music by
Blue Knight and Bardic Drumming and bellydancing by Jezibell,
along with workshops on the Native American medicine Wheel,
intuitive tarot, a Pagan perspective on the Tree of Life and
a kids labrynth walk.
Margot Adler, author of the classic
Drawing Down the Moon: Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers, and Other Pagans in America Today
was guest speaker.
At the 2003 event,
the guest speaker was Trish Telesco who's written many of my favorite books about
living the magickal life including the classic
Your Book of Shadows: How to Write Your Own Magickal Spells and
Kitchen Witch's Cookbook Every year the
Pagan Pride Project collects hundreds of pounds of human food for
City Harvest and lots of pet food for Kitty Kind and Mighty Mutts too:-)
