Videos of Live Bands & Where They Play

Killer Joe & the Lido Soul Revue

I took this video at the Jones Beach bandshell during the summer of 2008 and 5 other minimovies of this hard rockin band are up on YouTube, including 3 shot at a Halloween party at Blue 42 in Freeport. They play "old school rock & roll": 1950s-1960s classic rockers, Motown, R&B, blues & soul with a lot of energy. I dare you to be within earshot of this band and not have fun! Indoor venues include The Nutty Irishman and The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale and several bars & restaurants on the Nautical Mile in Freeport. You can checkout their calendar and learn more about the band at their website

        Dr K's Motown Review

My husband & I had some hot fun in the summertime dancing to the cool sounds of this amazingly authentic Motown cover band last summer; there's another video with more of the band and less of us LOL up on YouTube. Once the beach dance floor shuts down Dr K's Motown Revue play at casinos like Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and the Trump Casino in Atlantic City. Current calendar, pics & more available on their website

        Sweetwater

Last time we saw Sweetwater at Savannah Lounge this eclectic band focused on top 40 rock and pop from the 1960s through the present but they can play pretty much anything. As you can hear from the video, all the musicians and singers are first rate. They also play at the Holiday Inns in Westbury and Plainview and Mulcahy's in Hauppauge. The Sweetwater organization actually includes multiple bands and DJs; they cover all flavors of party music.

        Reckoning

This video was shot at a tribute birthday party to Jerry Garcia so of course it's full of Grateful Dead songs! Reckoning also covers Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Phish, the Allman Brothers, The Band and Bob Dylan. They usually play the Jones Beach bandshell in Wantagh every summer and also appear at the Nutty Irishman in Bayshore, Lulu's Village Pub in Port Jefferson, Da Funky Fish in Bay Shore and The Oasis in New Paltz all year round.

        Fran Diamond and The Hits
Halloween at Savannah Lounge with The Hits, a wild and crazy band that can play songs that were "hits" from the 1940s right up to NOW.

        The Mystic

Another great band that can play in just about any style, including this excellent cover of Billy Joel's "You May Be Right." This was also shot at the Savannah Lounge (yeah, we go there a lot :-)They also play Reflections Lounge in Rockville Centre, K.J. Farrell's in Bellmore and The Gatsby in Islip.
